2008-12-01 - warming up for the inevitable christmas carol entry

Is it that time of year already?

How I am: Daughter is nine, son is two, I am still scatterbrained.

Got out the door fine this morning, Dad wanted me there early because he was leaving on a business trip. OK, no problem. I get the kids out the door, got them all organized, with lunch money and extra milk and clean diapers and whatever all else.

I realize my registration expired yesterday and had to get everyone into the Honda instead.

I dropped the kids off and realized I'd left my purse, my money, my cell phone, and my sunglasses at home.

I got to work fine. However, I found out when I went to pick up lunch that I'd left the headlights on and drained the battery, so I had to take my sister's car.

I got home and got everything I needed and headed straight back out to the DMV, which went swimmingly, and then to the Acme, where I promptly forgot we needed milk.

I am home now, where I can do no more damage. KC is picking up the kids, and I am doing spaghetti with frozen meatballs and sauce from a jar, because I trust myself with nothing more complicated and in fact, they are lucky it's not peanut butter and jelly. Perhaps the evening may find me lying on the floor, swigging from a bottle of wine and singing "Single Ladies". Put a ring on this, ladies.
