2006-12-08 - no time like the last minute

It's Rudolph night! It's Rudolph night! We had to let the Miss Thing stay up later than usual in order to let her watch it; that's the really for-serious official start of the holiday season.

I still have no shopping done for KC. First we had no spare money and then I had a baby and stuff, which makes for difficulty when you are not allowed to drive. I have, however, perfected typing one-handed while juggling a squirmaworm with the other. If by "perfected" you mean "only making a few more typos than usual". So I should probably do a little bit of online shopping and just suck it up and pay for two-day shipping. He's usually easy anyway, and anything techy I don't get him he often picks up with the Best Buy gift card my dad usually gives him.

KC, bless him, actually took care of his sister's kids this year; now all we have to do is...everyone else. Heh. I know what I want to get my brothers, my sister's kids are pretty easy to buy for, and my sisters shouldn't be difficult. I want to do a necklace for my mom, but I am not sure if it will be ready in time. My dad and stepmom...well, sometimes I know what I want to do for them and other times I have to go with Ye Old Gift Carde. We're not exchanging with KC's siblings this year (his sister's idea), though right before we'd decided that, we found an anti-Bush calendar for her and my brother-in-law that just cracked us up. They're getting it anyway; it was too good to resist. We're picking up a case of wine from the local winery for hostess gifts and last-minute presents. We've started Leah and Adam already, though we have to get Mr. Adam a stocking yet.

Aaaaand, he's awake. I really need to get on the stick and start updating just after he goes down for a nap instead of waiting for the last minute.
