2005-12-19 - so girl let me see you get low
I have been in a...mood all day. Little things would snap me out of it, but mostly I have been really, really bitchy. It's nothing to be proud of, and I hope it's just a temporary glitch in the holiday proceedings, but goddamn. I don't know if it's being tired, or stress, or what, but nothing I do shakes it off for very long. I tried, though. I stopped at Wawa for my coffee and Daily News today, because the girl on the morning shift always makes me laugh, and holding the door for someone sometimes helps (seriously; someone saying "thank you" in a genuinely nice tone usually cheers me up for a bit) and I got take-out sushi for lunch and did some nice cookie presentations for a work reception (look, I bought store-brand thingies and a dollar store platter, the least I could do was make it look nice) and I played the BNL holiday album with "Hanukkah Blessings" on repeat (love the singing in Hebrew) and I played the Dean Martin holiday album with "Baby It's Cold Outside" on repeat (because he makes it so damn dirty) and only one thing worked for any length of time. Juelz Santana. "There It Go (The Whistle Song)". I had never heard that song before today, but once was enough to make me want to install ten woofers in my car and then drive around setting off vehicle alarms all day. Move your thang like a boomerang, indeed. Of course, if I did that, a strap would go and someone would get hurt. I made the mistake of telling my mother my new bra size. She choked on her coffee and said "Goddamn, Stef, that's not a bra. That's a hat." Thank you, Mother. So now I have tea and I had a slice of cake and KC has started a Harry Potter movie in the other room, and as soon as he falls asleep I am loading up Ye Olde Comcast OnDemand, because they're showing The Snapper as a freebie this month and I love that movie more than could possibly be good for me. Perhaps a double bill with White Palace? |
